Baptismal Preparation Programs More Details
For a child to be baptized at Immaculate Conception, the parents must be members of our parish and faithful Catholics. To assure that parents have a full understanding of what it means to have their child Baptized in the Catholic Faith, they will be asked to attend two learning and faith-sharing gatherings. At the first gathering, they will meet with a mentor couple along with other parents who are preparing to have their children Baptized. The second meeting takes place at the church and will be facilitated by one of our priests or deacons. Would you like to be a mentor couple?

Prayer Shawl Ministry
We are very energized about the Prayer Shawl Ministry at ICD. Shawls are crocheted or knitted into a "mantle of prayer." Prayers are constantly said during this process for the recipients who are suffering due to infirmity of the mind or body, poverty, sorrow at the loss of a loved one, or distress of certain matter. As the recipients turn over their needs and sufferings to God, we ask that they might receive perfect consolation, healing, guidance, and deliverance from their afflictions. A formal, inspirational prayer is attached to the completed shawl before it is blessed by one of our parish priests. Although there is no charge for the shawls, donations are greatly appreciated for the cost of materials and/or the funding of this new ministry. Once a month, or more frequently if needed, materials will be distributed and finished shawls will be received. Kay Gerkowski, the head this new ministry, is asking for volunteers who like to crochet and knit, but most importantly, love to pray. If you are in need of a prayer shawl for yourself or others, or would like to help with a donation for this new ministry, please contact Kay by phone (636) 561-3642 or by mail to Kay Gerkowski c/o Prayer Shawl Ministry, P.O. RCIA - Instruction in Catholic Faith

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process in which a person who is not baptized or baptized in another faith denomination journeys with others like them and other Catholics to be fully initiated into the Catholic Faith. It is a process of formation. There are four steps in this formation process which culminates at the Easter Vigil with the celebration of the three Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist. The parish community, through its prayers, witness, worship, service, and catechesis, offers the invitation and support for the men and women to initiate into the Catholic Church. Weekly meetings are held beginning in September and ending in May. Sponsorship is needed always rewarding.

Stewardship More Details
The Stewardship program was initiated in 1989 with the time, talent and treasure phases. The time and talent phase is giving back to our parish the God-given talents each parishioner possesses in some aspect of parish life. Our parish has been blessed with generous volunteers who have utilized their talents to make Immaculate Conception the parish it is today. With the growing community of our parish, many of these services and ministries need more help in order to continue. The talents of each parishioner are welcomed on any committee and ministry. The Treasure phase of Stewardship is giving back to God and our parish the first fruits of our endeavors. Through this portion of stewardship our parish grows and the ministries are allowed to continue to meet the growing demands of these necessary services.
