First begun in France, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was established in St. Louis in 1845 where it has its national office and is one of the oldest and well-respected charities in St. Louis. As a Catholic lay organization, it is inspired by Gospel values, and works to build a more just world through personal relationships and serves those in need, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or age.

Food Pantry
We offer a wide variety of food for households at no cost. Food may be picked up every seven days. Although the supplies vary, we usually give bread, dairy products, frozen meat, a dessert, and some shelf-stable foods. Neighbors may choose from a selection of fresh fruits and vegetables and other miscellaneous items, including bottled water or drinks.
Financial Assistance
Assistance may be available to neighbors who need help during a challenging time. To qualify, one must live in our parish boundaries and meet with a caseworker to complete a confidential review of the household’s financial situation so we can determine how we can best help or refer one to other appropriate resources. We may be able to help with utility bills, rent, car repairs, or other special needs. Call the Hope Center at (636) 265-0912 to speak with someone or leave a message.
